I just happened to be in Sofia, Bulgaria during Aniventure Comic Con, so I decided to explore everything that Bulgaria's geek scene has to offer!

Comic Con in Sofia had 25 000 visitors, so it's a big convention. And it was full of amazing things to see and do! First of all, tons and tons of cosplay of course. Funny costumes, amazing costumes, and everything in between. And there was also cosplay competitions and cosplayer meet and greets, and a lot more.
But there's also tons of gaming - modern gaming, retro gaming, gaming competitions and various events you can participate in. Oh, and of course there was a massive artist alley, troves of geek merchandise, and presentations and performances.
And let's not forget about the celebrities! Oona Chaplin and John Rhys-Davies held QAs, and you could also get autographs and meet them along with other famous people.
Aside from all of that there was of course tons of geeky fun and random things to see and do, like a LARP section, a graffiti wall, a wrestling ring (that I completely forgot to check out), talks and lectures and so much more.
I visited during the Sunday only, but this was a two-day event that took place on both Saturday and Sunday. If you ever find yourself in Sofia during Comic Con I highly recommend a visit - it doesn't matter if you don't speak Bulgarian, because geekiness is a universal language!
