Warframe is adding two new features to the Riven mod system in the Iceblade of Narin update this fall — the first feature additions Rivens have received since they were introduced.
Announced on Devshorts 115, the changes are stat locking and stat merging. Stat locking uses a new Kuva-like resource that lets you lock a single stat on a Riven so it can't be changed by further rerolls, letting you keep a good roll while cycling the rest. Stat merging lets you combine two existing stats into a new one that isn't otherwise available — the example shown was Damage and Multishot merging into Weak point damage.
Riven Dispositions are not part of these changes Costs, acquisition method, and whether negative stats can be locked have not been confirmed yet, and more detail is expected in Devstream #197.
