When you play a note on a real piano, you do not only hear that one note. The vibrating string excites the soundboard, and harmonically related strings can start ringing on their own. That hidden interaction is called sympathetic resonance — and it is one of the reasons a real piano feels alive.
With this free player update, Sympathetic Resonance is now available for every VSL piano.

⚠️ A few technical notes:
➤ Sympathetic Resonance is not enabled by default, so older projects stay unchanged.
➤ It is processor-intensive, so use it when you need the extra realism.
➤ It is calculated from the close microphone channels.
➤ If no close microphones are active, the feature is automatically disabled.
This is a subtle feature, but it can change the way a virtual piano feels under your hands — especially for exposed piano writing, intimate film scoring, solo piano, classical mockups and emotional composer demos.
