Tool Academy (UK) is a competitive British reality television series presented by Rick Edwards alongside TV psychiatrist Dr. Sandra Scott, based on the original American VH1 format. First airing on E4 in January 2011, the show premise centers around twelve "unsuspecting bad boys" who have been nominated by their frustrated girlfriends under false pretenses—leading the contestants to believe they are competing for a title like "Britain's Ultimate Lad" or "King of Men". Shortly after arriving at the mansion, the men learn the true nature of the competition: a relationship boot camp and "charm school" designed to reform their toxic behavior and teach them how to treat their partners. Throughout the show, Dr. Scott works with the men on various weekly relationship lessons, after which one contestant is expelled and his girlfriend must decide whether to stay in the relationship or break up. The final remaining contestant who demonstrates the most improvement wins a £25,000 cash prize to graduate from the academy.
