Drayton Park is one of London's quirkiest stations, located just off the East Coast Main Line on the Northern City line route between Finsbury Park and Moorgate.
All services on the line are operated by Great Northern using their Class 717 "Desiro City" units, on the core commuter routes from Moorgate to Welwyn Garden City and Stevenage via Hertford North. However during rush hour, service frequencies ramp up and we see a larger variety of services to a tight timetable.
Drayton Park is notably the point where Great Northern services change power, from overhead power used on the ECML to third rail used in the tunnels to Moorgate. Watching pantographs go up and down never gets boring here.
