A psychological Evangelion AMV that looks at the deep mental conflict of Evangelion's main characters, specifically Shinji & Gendo & Rei, Misato & Ryoji, and Kaworu. I had a great time juxtaposing moments of kindness with the characters' darker realities and consequences.
"Deep Blue" in this AMV, to me, is the familiar reality each of the characters in Evangelion yearn to return to, but that reality is just as sad as it is comfortable.
I really kept this quote from the band in mind:
"The way that I always describe addiction is that it’s very sexual in a way. You have this beautiful thing that’s staring at you and it’s constantly telling you to dive in. Then you actually decide to give in to whatever your struggle is, and it just pulls you down. It does a 180 and literally controls your life. Whether it be addiction, anxiety or depression—the feeling is that you’re trying to swim up from the depths and it’s just pulling you to the bottom of the sea."
This is by far the most technical and hopefully smoothest AMV of mine to-date. I really hope that the work is so invisible you don't believe me and just feel the flow :).
