(Apologies for the focus issue in the latter part of the vid...I don't know what happened there....)

A quantizer is a module that takes a random voltage as input and outputs a new voltage that's close to the input, but falls on a selected note or scale. In the early days of synthesis this was frequently a separate module and highly necessary when combined with random/noise sources and sequencers, but today you find many sequencers have one built in.

Even if your current module has a built in quantizer, a separate module can be handy for purposes of transposition and on-the-fly scale modification.

Here are 4 modules I have handy. This is just a quick look to see how their interfaces differ.
