Join our next technical webinar in the EUROCONTROL Stakeholder Forum series on 1 December 2023, 14:00-15:30 CET, where we’ll be exploring how we can further evolve the Flexible Use of Airspace (FUA) concept to address the changing airspace requirements and boosting, as a result, civil-military cooperation in aviation.
This webinar is a follow-up to the first Global Civil-Military Aviation Summit, which EUROCONTROL organised in cooperation with ICAO in June 2023, where civil and military leaders came together to discuss how civil-military cooperation could further contribute to a sustainable and efficient global aviation system, specifically looking at the implementation of flexible use of airspace, globally. The summit recognised the importance of FUA as way to guarantee safe and secure operations, and going a long way towards meeting the dual objective of delivering civil flight efficiency while allowing military mission effectiveness.
To identify key operational and technical action points as a follow-up to the insight from aviation leaders, we've lined up top civil and military aviation experts. Together, they will explore the following aspects when it comes to civil-military cooperation:
- Requirements for day-to-day civil-military coordination and CDM to support a optimised, secured and sustainable use of airspace.
- Alignment of changing civil and military needs towards a more flexible and dynamic airspace planning & use in areas impacted by conflicts.
- Digitalisation and automation of airspace management support systems.
- Civil use of available/released airspace and obstacles to improving uptake of FUA results.
