In this talk I discuss why one would want to learn about Eucharistic magick, relating it back to the core spiritual concerns of Thelema, A∴A∴, and O.T.O.
We then explore Crowley's definition of Eucharistic magick and how he saw it as a type of alchemy. We look at what Crowley saw as the essence of the alchemical process and how Eucharistic magick is a form of it.
We then look at the steps involved in a work of Eucharistic magick. We explore the meaning of concepts such as fasting, chastity, and aspiration, and how they relate to magick generally. We look at the steps of banishing and consecration, taking the magical oath, and invocation. There is a brief discussion of Crowley's methods in "Energized Enthusiasm".
Then there is a long discussion of exactly how to consecrate a Eucharist into a ritual structure. We look at several rituals, the most important being Sections VI-VIII of Liber XV: The Gnostic Mass, to see how this is done. We take a close look at how the formula of I.A.O. - particularly Crowley's innovations to it in Magick in Theory and Practice - relates to the Gnostic Mass. We look at how and why the Eucharist relates to the Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel.
The talk ends with some practical considerations, such as how to do magick generally and how to construct a Eucharistic ritual in particular.
