A little Sasha grows up in an orphanage and waits for his mother to come for him. One day he hears a work by S. Rachmaninoff on the radio, falls in love with the music and learns to play the piano himself. In an orphanage, and afterwards, in a real life, the hero will face cruelty, undivided love, crime, and find the way to his vocation - music. But how do you stop waiting for your mother?
