The Blood Stone Edington Wiltshire believed to be an execution stone ? Or is it ? I go to the stone and evaluate the possibilities of the origin of the stone and if this was used at the Battle of Ethandun ,still regarded as one of the most decisive battles in the history of England in AD878 . Alfred defeated the Danes and secured England in part of this process there is a legend that Danes were beheaded on the Blood Stone !
