More easier stuff for now. I had this on my radar for a quite a while actually as it seemed like a pretty good level, but just didn't get around to it until last night, which that last part turned out to be a pretty bad idea. The level itself, however, is quite excellent. It's one of those special levels that is so easy to just pick up and play, and it is very hard for me to find much to critique about it. The base gameplay is incredibly straight forward, yet still highly enjoyable. The visuals are very well made and looks great without being object dense and fits the vibe of the song and gameplay beautifully. It manages to achieve all of this too as a 2.1 project that got caught by the release of 2.2 during its development. Hats off to kacurroo for subtly adding new features in ways that worked best for this, and not abusing them, which would've made it fall apart quite easily. Now, going back to the gameplay. It's generally pretty well balanced, but also just the slightest bit chokepointy. The latter half of the predrop, mostly the ufo (0:25) got on my nerves a little bit, as well the waves and cubes near the end of the drop (0:56-1:01). These got especially annoying with me getting as unlucky as I did, but it's the only things that I can point out having issues with. The rest became smooth sailing quickly. So all in all, just a really consistently strong piece of work that was definitely worth spending time on. Up there with some of my favorite extremes even. I just wish I chose a better time of day to have played it.
