Arcanist has a great balance of damage and almost unkillable survivability due to very strong damage shields.
It's also one of the few classes that in my opinion requires current meta dot setup to be good.

Head: Roksa – impen – tri-stat (medium)
Shoulders: Roksa – well-fitted – tri-stat (medium)
Chest: Way of Fire – reinforced – tri-stat (heavy)
Hands: Trainee – well-fitted – tri-stat (medium)
Belt: Druid’s Braid – impen – tri-stat (light)
Legs: Way of Fire – well-fitted – tri-stat (heavy)
Feet: Way of Fire – well-fitted – tri-stat (heavy)
Maces (frontbar): Master’s – nirnhoned & sharpened – poisons
Ice staff (backbar): Vateshran – defending – weapon damage
Necklace: Way of Fire – bloodthirsty – spell damage
Ring: Way of Fire – bloodthirsty – spell damage
Ring: Death Dealer’s Fete – bloodthirsty – spell damage
(You can run Dragon's Appetite instead of Way of Fire if you want)

Race: Orc
Mundus: Serpent
Attributes: 30k+ hp, rest into stam (currently on Orc I run 32k+ hp and 19k+ stam which get boosted further in combat from death dealer’s fete)
Food: Jewels of Misrule
