To mark Native American Heritage Month in 2015, ESF formally acknowledged our place in Onondaga territory, promised to inform visitors to campus of our relationship with the Onondaga, and announced several new programs and initiatives for Center for Native Peoples and the Environment and education in indigenous studies. ESF student government also formally petitioned the college to recognize Indigenous Peoples Day. Onondaga leaders visited campus for the occasion.
