The most common concerns and questions I hear are overwhelmingly about escaping bottom pins, particularly side control. One of the worst situations is being smashed by a much larger and stronger opponent in side control, so while training and teaching at the SIG Sauer Experience Center and Self Defense Center, I thought a good opportunity to show some escapes for this situation would be with my friend Gavin Wageman, a 6'3" 260lb black belt in BJJ (not to mention Marine Corps veteran & shooting / combatives expert). These side control escapes, in my experience, have gotten me out from under larger opponents than any other escapes:

0:00 - 1:17: Intro
1:18 - 3:52: Turkish Uphill Escape
3:53 - 4:44: Octopus Style Variation
4:45 - 7:04: Guard Replacement Standard
7:05 - 9:03: Back Step Hook Guard Replacement
9:04 - 10:31: Outtro

Hope you like it!
