This video is tool-assisted: it was created by advancing the game one frame at a time and performing every input exactly as desired, then playing back the same input stream at 60 fps.
I tried so hard to replicate Zampas old strategy of bouncing the bomb off the arrow (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej6c2VVoHuw) but absolutely could not get the right bounce. I got so fed up that I decided to do it a different way, and the end result tied his record.
I think the input and physics displays are behind by a frame, maybe 2. Dolphin is dumb.
The first number at the bottom is Links x-coordinate. See how it pauses at 4.94 when Link lands around 0:03? I wouldve needed to land at 4.5 or less (that is, a tiny bit more to the left) at the same time in order to get a time of 3.45 seconds. Unfortunately, theres no way to land further to the left without the first boomerang missing the target in the top right corner or the bomb missing its targets.")

Difference between my run and his:
After 5, Anton drifts right to land 1 frame earlier than I do, but the fact that Im further to the left means that
1. I dont need to dash before wavedashing, immediately saving the frame I lost, and
2. Im still further to the left than he is, so I need to dash for 1 less frame before 7.
