$A Structural Mechanism for Turning Potential into Articulated Reality The Universal Principle of Collapse (UPC) is a structural framework describing how potential becomes articulated reality for a meaning‑bearing observer. UPC is not a physical theory or a metaphysical claim. It is a domain‑independent operator sequence: PO → MO → s → LO → Jo → C → T → R Definitions • PO (Potential Domain): A space of possible interpretations or outcomes. • MO (Model Application): The observer applies a model to the potential domain. • s (Salience): The observer selects relevant structure within the model. • LO (Articulation): The observer generates an articulated space of possible outcomes. • Jo (Recognition): The observer identifies one articulated outcome as meaningful for itself. • C (Collapse): The observer commits to one articulated possibility as this rather than that. • T (Trace): A determinate outcome is produced. • R (Re‑potentialization): The observer re‑enters potential with the capacity to shift or replace its model.
