Speaking at the Informal Meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers — Gymnich in Druids Glen, County Wicklow, Ireland, Albares said this is a reflection currently taking place inside the European Union.
He argued that Europe must become more effective in foreign policy.
For Albares, moving to qualified majority voting in some decisions is clearly the step Europe needs to take.
His message was direct: if the EU wants to act as a global power, it cannot remain trapped by slow decision-making and unanimity blocks.
