In this video Jazzduets demonstrates C minor and D major Triad pair shapes superimposed
over a C minor drone.
These triads are found in the ‘Satie Scale’. The D triad with the F#, sharp 4 of the minor scale is pungent and beautiful.
Over the C minor drone these 2 triads produce a Foreign, Exotic sound feeling.
THE SITUATION
Imagine a dinner party has started. The mood of the party is on the sober side.
These 2 triad people entering are in quite different moods.
The C- triad person blends perfectly in and is almost invisible!
The D major person is wearing bright clothes and speaks out freely and happily without a care for the others which raises eyebrows!
