One of the largest if not the largest lake on Mars was Eridania which was located in the southern highlands of Mars. This Martian lake is larger than the Caspian Sea and the Great Lakes combined, so by far larger than any lake on Earth and on top of that it's deepest points were likely about as deep as deep as that of the deepest lake on Earth. Besides being huge, there is good evidence that Eridania had hydrothermal vents as indicated by its massive clay deposits at its deepest parts. The evidence of hydrothermal vents makes Eridania one of the most exciting locations for future rovers to explore because hydrothermal vents are brimming with life on Earth, so in Eridania there could be evidence of ancient life.
