Merry Christmas darling! Here's some Eren x Levi for you, and a bit of Levi x Petra too. Double the feels!

Eren tries to leave, blaming himself for everything in typical Eren fashion. Levi does not try to stop him, understanding that this is something Eren believes he needs to do, though Levi doesn't want him to go. He thinks of Petra, how she's gone now, how things were right with her and he couldn't allow himself to spend more time with her. Still, he looks back on the times she smiled at him and believes them to be good. But now that Eren is in the pictures and Levi is paying more attention to him, he sees an opportunity he couldn't take (and yet took too easily) with Petra- being close to someone, taking care of them. He thinks of his job as a soldier, protecting humanity, and not just one person, and acknowledges that it was much easier before. Now it's more difficult to focus on his morals, on being a symbol, when people like Petra and Eren are in his way.
He tells Eren to stay.

Where to start? We're continuing our tradition of being not-so-secret Santa's for each other, and we've gotten even closer this year. Here's some Eren/Levi and sad Levi/Petra for you. And Levi is touching Eren's face at the end. He's probably calling him a little brat or something, but the sentiment is there, right? Thank you for talking with me, for always saying the right things, for Betaing my videos and keeping me from smashing my computer on more than one occasion. My tribute to Eren is done!
This is for the third round of heymonwebejaminns Invidcible tourney. We had to do a character/couple study and I picked Eren, with a specific focus on his humanity. Id wanted to edit with this song and the instrumental requirement of this round was the perfect opportunity to use it.
For this video, I focused on Eren as human. How his humanity is tested, questioned. And how it reveals itself time and time again. Eren can shift into a titan and is therefore deemed unsafe, a thing no one understands. Very few people want to take the time to learn to trust him. But people like Mikasa, Armin, Levi, and later the rest of Levis squad all grow to trust him and his ability to some degree. Eren is emotionally driven, something that cannot be said for any regular titan. His choices are inspired by heated feelings, such as his goal to kill the titans and his decision to join the military. He yells, cries, more than anyone. He is driven by anger, driven by human emotion. Levis goal at Erens trial is to bring this out for everyone to see— the so-called monster can breed and feel pain just like anyone else. He can be controlled and trained just as well. Eren is hurt by everyones mistrust, though he understands logically why they feel the way they do. He is called a monster, called the very thing he hates. The people he befriended and trained beside turn their blades against him. Even after he joins the Survey Corps, Squad Levi is prepared to kill him if they must, though they quickly apologize, letting Eren know killing him would have been a very difficult thing to do if it came to that. They bite their hands to acknowledge the pain Eren goes through daily and when turning into a titan. Petra tells Eren to have faith in them, which Eren does, further separating him from the mindless human-eating monsters they all fight. Another theme I wanted to focus on was pain. Emotional and physical pain. Squad Levi, as well as Mikasa and Armin, all sympathize and empathize with Eren when he is in pain, and he suffers a lot. Eren grieves the deaths of the members of Squad Levi, and blames himself for everything that has happened. He never wanted anyone to die for him— it was always supposed to be the opposite. Eren cries. Mikasa and Levi are near him and they find it difficult to watch such a passionate, hopeful, reckless boy suffer so much, brought down by the merciless world around him.

Editors Notes:
I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS THING NONSTOP THE LAST FEW DAYS!! Seriously, Im so glad its done. Its due today. (Opps.) But Im super proud of it. I could have gone on and on with this video, given the time, and I would have loved to include his friends more and maybe some more Levi, and Annie too. But the focus was supposed to be on his humanity so Im kind of glad I was only able to stick to strict outline of things that showed Eren doing human things, feeling human emotions.
A note on the lyrics at the end, since the rule for this contest is to use an instrumental- I kept them to a minimum and they were really used in order to get a good ending for the video, as nothing else really worked. Most of the lyrics in the end credits anyway, which start at the color transition when Mikasa goes to Eren after he emerges from the titan the first time. So I hope its okay.

Why is it late? Because my program is a dick, thats why. I have so many different rendered parts of this and different editing files, its not even funny. But I finally finished. And raw editing, too. I worry its a bit unflowy or messy in some parts, but hopefully it looks ok considering all the difficulty I had while editing this. Also, glitches. Ignore, please.
Problems aside, this was a lot of fun to edit, and Im happy I was able to do a multi-fandom video for her. I am pretty happy with it most of it, though there was a lot I wish I could have done with the SNK part, but I just decided to finish it before I went crazy and before it was any more late than it already was. I did get some Eren and Mikasa and Jean/Marco in there, so Im content.
