Modeled in Meccano, this early 17th-century escapement features a pendulum and distinctive metal-on-metal sound.

This Erector Set escapement has a pinwheel with six strips and a component (behind the 3x3-hole square plate) that forms a pair of pawls. As the pendulum swings, one pawl lifts clear of the pinwheel strip allowing the wheel to rotate until 'caught' by the other pawl.
