Is the Pivo a yay or neigh? 🐴
I got a Pivo back in 2020, it was one of the very first versions. The tracking did not work at all and it was pretty disappointing 🤦🏽♀️
Pivo sent me their newest 2024 pod, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by all the improvements! Here are some of my favourite features and key differences in this new pod:
• Tracking, Predictive Follow & Auto Zoom: It actually follows you very well and does not get stuck on other objects (i.e. jumps, fence posts, other horses, signs), and the tracking speed has improved a lot and it can actually keep up with you while riding. Plus it auto zooms! It is more ideal if you are riding alone though, as it may track other riders in the ring too.
• Riding Presets: This is something new i noticed! The presets make a big difference, and my favourite one to use is Riding or Fences while I am jumping.
• Remote: The remote is great so you can turn on/off recording while on your horse. No need to get off or go on your phone. However, it can be a bit tricky to connect at first.
• Battery: The battery of the Pivo itself lasts a long time. I can use mine several times before it needs a charge (even in the cold winter)! However, it drains a lot of your phone battery. I would recommend to bring a portable charger.
• Storage: The pivo saves videos directly to the app, and your camera roll if you wish. But the videos take up a lot of storage. You will need to make sure you have enough space on your phone to save videos!
Overall, this new pivo pod is a yay for me! 💯 It’s ideal for days when i’m riding alone but want some video to review our training progress later.
