Rarity struggles to push a weighty grand piano across campus in time for band practice with her friends, filthying her hair and clothes. She spots three human counterparts of the Diamond Dog boys digging near the school building, and attracts their attention with her dazzling allure. 

Player Piano is one of the first eight animated prequel shorts released as a tie-in to My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks. The animation primarily focuses on the human counterpart of Rarity.
