On November 17, 1988, E'Prime Aerospace Corporation of Titusville, Florida, launched a 10-foot long solid-fueled rocket from Launch Complex 47. The mission, called LOFT-1 (Launch Operations Test Flight 1), sent a payload container with student experiments to an altitude of about 14,000 feet. The container was recovered from the Atlantic Ocean.
