We check out of the Sands Motel and ease into the final day with coffee and breakfast at Lake Mead. Wind and traffic shake things up on the Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Bridge before we cross Hoover Dam and take in views of the Colorado River.
In this episode, we wake up in Boulder City, Nevada, check out of the Sands Motel, and begin the final drive of the journey.
Before leaving town, we grab coffee and head down to Lake Mead, where we enjoy breakfast with a quiet view of the water. We take some time to walk around, soaking in the stillness before the day picks up speed.
From there, we head to the Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, stepping out into strong winds and fast-moving traffic that make the experience a little nerve-wracking—but unforgettable. Since we’ve already passed through the checkpoint, we continue on across Hoover Dam in the truck, stopping to take in views of the Colorado River below.
