When working on my Losi Hammer Rey, I suddenly felt inspired. The wheelbase looked like the Arrma FireTeam body and cage would be a perfect fit, and since I'm a huge fan of side by side off-road vehicles, the plans for a new build were born: a Losi PolaRey. Using the chassis components of the Losi Hammer Rey with minimal modifications, adding a few CNC machined parts to adapt the cage, I set out to work. And this video is the second of three in which I will walk you through a process of how I built a vehicle that on its launch had a lot of people thinking this was an actual new release by Losi. Despite it being a little joke, a prank, a gaffe, or whatever you want to call it, I hope my release inspires you to get creative with existing components to create some fresh looking new RC's.
In this second assembly episode I walk you through my interior panel modifications, the ESC relocating and the braces I made to stiffen up the rear shocktowers. There are also a lot of parts that I found can easily be adapted to work very well on the Arrma FireTeam cage and body panels, like the helmets, the radiator, the entire light kit and even the Magnaflow exhaust system. A little creative thinking can go a really long way!

Powered with the known Spektrum 130A waterproof ESC which is paired to a 3150kV brushless Spektrum motor, the Losi PolaRey is the latest in the line of 1/10th scale Losi Rey vehicles. Advised is to power the vehicle with a 3S LiPo max, and swapping batteries is easy with their unique back loading battery system. The PolaRey stands on licensed Interco SuperSwamper tires which are 5.4 inches tall, mounted on a tough design 1.9 sized wheel. An overload on scale details like a radiator, brake discs and calipers on each corner, a detailed interior panel with a driver and co-pilot, exhaust system and shock reservoirs complete the look of this all-new vehicle, setting the tone for 2023. Horizon manages to inspire with their product range once again, triggering innovation and creativity.
