Song Lyrics:
Yah, it was early October, up north by Hayward, Wisconsin.
Me, Reggie, Rande, and his boy Reed — we was headin’ out to catch ourselves da turdy pound pike.
We had three coolers, two boats, and one brain between us.
You know it’s gonna be a good day when you start with duct tape and a prayer.
We launched the old Aluma craft, she was ridin’ low and lean,
Cooler full a’ Lienie's, and a bucket full a’ dreams.
Rande’s tossin’ them Bulldawgs, Reed’s flingin’ big ol’ spoons,
I said, “Careful wit’ dat hook!” — next thing, he’s howlin’ at the moon!
(Yeah, got him right in the back, just above the shoulder blade.
We had to use the pliers and a little bit of Busch Light anesthesia…)
🎵 We’re fishin’ for da turdy pound pike!
Tossin’ lures as big as a motorbike!
Boat’s takin’ on water, but we don’t care,
We’re laughin’ too hard, and the beer’s right there!
We’re raisin’ cane in the northwoods night,
Tryin’ to catch dat turdy pound pike! 🎵
Now Reggie swears by spinnerbaits, I say jerkbaits rule the lake,
Then Reed grabs a hot dog and says, “Dis here’s all it takes!”
We all roll our eyes — ‘til somethin’ hits the line,
Rod bends double, drag’s a-screamin’, “Boys! Dis one’s mine!”
(It was the size of a log.
We named it “Larry” and tied it to the dock.)
🎵 We’re fishin’ for da turdy pound pike!
Somebody fell in — yah, that’s Mike!
He’s holdin’ his beer up high and proud,
“Don’t spill da Lienie's!” he yelled out loud!
We’re raisin’ cane in the northwoods night,
Tryin’ to catch dat turdy pound pike! 🎵
Then I seen it — on da shoreline, just past da reeds…
There he was… Da Turdy Point Buck!
He looked right at me, snorted, and winked.
Then he flipped his tail, and — swear to God —
He laughed at us! Probably huntin’ us next season.
Boat’s half sunk, we’re soaked and cold,
But man, those stories never get old.
Reed’s hooked the anchor line, Rande’s reelin’ in a boot,
Mike’s playin’ net man — in his birthday suit!
🎵 We’re fishin’ for da turdy pound pike!
Up north where da loons cry every night!
We might be dumb, but we’re havin’ fun,
Tippin’ cans and castin’ runs!
We’ll be legends if we ever strike…
Dat big ol’ turdy pound pike! 🎵
Next morning, the ranger pulls up and says,
“Boys, what happened here?”
We said, “Sir, we fought da turdy pound pike…”
He said, “Looks like da pike won.”

Music Video Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjCiE9Hl-XJFiZob5WBiKYj-tj6G-iupe
Song Lyrics:
Yeah, we don’t need no big-city lights,
We’re feelin’ fine under Midwest skies,
Cooler’s full and the rods are tight,
We’re dancin’ with them fish tonight!
[Verse 1]
Got my buddy Reggie ridin’ shotgun seat,
Alumacraft hummin’ to a backroad beat,
Launchin’ at dawn on a lake so wide,
Minnows jumpin’ like they’re on our side.
Wind in the reeds, and a coffee can,
Full o’ nightcrawlers and a half-baked plan,
If the bite’s slow, well, that’s all right,
We’ll toast the day by lantern light.
[Chorus]
🎵 I got Perch, Pike, and Walleye,
They’re the reasons I’m feelin’ high,
Forget champagne or a fancy guy—
I’m hooked on Perch, Pike, and Walleye!
🎵 Yeah, from Green Bay down to Eau Claire,
You’ll find us fishin’ anywhere,
Drop a line and kiss the sky,
For Perch, Pike, and Walleye!
[Verse 2]
There’s a bobber dancin’ out by the dock,
Reggie’s swearin’ it’s a cinder block,
But it’s pullin’ hard, and it’s fightin’ mean,
Might be the biggest we’ve ever seen.
Got sun on my face, and a song in my soul,
A stringer full, yeah, we hit our goal,
We don’t need gold, we don’t need fame,
Just a net, a lake, and a fishin’ name!
[Chorus]
🎵 I got Perch, Pike, and Walleye,
They’re the ones that never lie,
Tug that line and my heart flies high,
For Perch, Pike, and Walleye!
🎵 From the Chippewa down to Rice Lake’s shore,
Ain’t nothin’ we love more,
Ain’t no need to wonder why—
We live for Perch, Pike, and Walleye!
[Bridge]
Now some folks sip bourbon, gin, or rye,
But I’ll take a cast and a clear blue sky,
You can keep your bars and your neon signs,
We’ll be singin’ to the fishin’ lines!
[Final Chorus]
🎵 Perch, Pike, and Walleye!
Raise your rods and don’t be shy!
From Hayward down to Appleton nights,
We’re chasin’ Perch, Pike, and Walleye!
🎵 Yeah, our kind of heaven’s right outside,
With a tackle box and a good-time vibe,
We’ll fish ‘til we say goodbye—
To Perch, Pike, and Walleye!
[Outro]
Yeah, we’ll fish ‘til we say goodbye…
To Perch, Pike, and Walleye.
Yah sure… you betcha.
