After watching this back, I think I was a bit of an idiot. Given the GS disk structure is readable in Workbench, and given I suspect only 1 or 2 files were corrupt, the FIRST thing I should have tried, would be to copy the "contents" (files and folders) of the good disk, onto the bad disk. This would negate the need to try and copy the boot sector and additional end sectors. Not a guaranteed fix, no, but that may have worked, and should have been the FIRST thing I tried. Too late now :( DOH!
