Prince George is a small city in north-central British Columbia, Canada, situated at the confluence of the Fraser and Nechako rivers and surrounded hundreds of miles of thick forest in any direction. We spent a couple of nights on full hookups at Northern Experience RV, but having gone east in 2024 it's been too long since we've boondocked, and after spending the past month RV camping in the National Parks of the Canadian Rockies we longed for a peaceful boondocking stay to unwind and relax this week. We found what we were looking for on the shores of peaceful and scenic Ste. Marie Lake, and celebrated the U.S. Independence Day holiday in Canada with a lakefront BBQ. While we meant to do little, we also went kayaking right from camp, visited the Huble Homestead Historic Site for a glimpse into pioneer life in remote Northern BC, and toured the impressive collection at the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum. We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah during the winter months, and invite you to come along as we travel all around North America. My wife Patricia and I, and dog Zoe are avid boondockers, so while you'll occasionally find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. We've now transitioned from "long-timing" for six months a year, to living and traveling in our RV full-time.
