Acadia National Park, the only National Park in the northeastern U.S., sits on the Central Maine coastline where it occupies about half of 108 square-mile Mt. Desert Island, which also is home to the resort town of Bar Harbor. While camping at Timberland Acres RV Park in Trenton we'll attempt to catch the sunrise from atop Cadillac Mountain, the first place in the U.S. to see the sun for about half the year. We'll explore the National Park and the towns of Mt. Desert Island, deal with a mechanical RV problem, eat well, meet a viewer, and go on two hikes -- one a forest stroll with Zoe on the carriage roads in the park developed by John D. Rockefeller, and the other "extreme hiking" up The Beehive. We'll take a quick trip to the other side of Penobscot Bay, and kayak Bass Harbor and the open ocean. Come along!

We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah during the winter months, and invite you to come along as we travel all around North America. My wife Patricia and I, and dog Zoe are avid boondockers, so while you'll occasionally find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. We've now transitioned from "long-timing" for six months a year, to living and traveling in our RV full-time.
