In this episode Dr. Abou El Fadl discusses examples of the type of conviction that was necessary for early Muslims to challenge the tribal systems which determined one’s principles and loyalties. Also discusses are an introduction to the Prophet’s future marriages, Maria the Copt, and the alleged incident in which the Prophet neglected to say insha’Allah (by God’s will) that he would answer the challenges presented by the Quraysh to test the validity of his prophethood.
