We've had our YouTube channel since December 2018 and we've learned some valuable lessons along the way. Most importantly, we've learned that we can't let creating get in the way of living. In this video we share a very candid discussion why we started Youtube channel, our early expectations and how they've changed, our disappointments and triumphs and where we are today as Youtube creators. We are Brian and Shawnna, a full time rv couple who enjoy full time RV living. We are empty nesters who recently quit our corporate jobs, sold our home and auctioned off just about everything we own to live a simpler, more purposeful life in our RV. As Full Time RV'ers, our goal is to experience life and make awesome rv lifestyle videos for our community. We decided to "retire" from life as we knew it so we traded our stuff for experiences. We travel in a 2008 Winnebago Motorhome (RV) with a preference for RV boondocking. Have you ever wondered how to check RV tires for age and condition? Are the tires on your RV exhibiting sidewall cracking? RV Tire Replacement is something we RVers hate to think about. When did you last replace the tires on your RV? Have you checked your RV tires lately? Doing an RV tire inspection is easy and quick. Recently I (Shawnna) had a boulder literally jump out in front of me on the highway and hit it square on! I was following Brian in the Jeep GC onto the highway when WHAM! A loud bang occurred at the same time the Jeep lifted up and then down. I swear this rock was a boulder, but Brian thinks it was a wee bit smaller 😉
I radioed Brian at the same time he was noticing a pressure loss on the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system), indicating something wrong with the drivers side front tire of the Jeep. We pulled over and sure enough, the rim was bent and the tire bead was leaking from the impact of that rock. Aaaargh! Another repair!
This whole situation got me thinking about tires. How to inspect rv tires, when to replace rv tires, how much do rv tires cost, etc... Weve had pretty good luck with both the motorhome and Jeep tires since we departed for full time life back in May 2019. In our latest YouTube video, we share how and when we check our tires and our plans for when they need to be replaced. Eventually this happens to everyone! Hopefully its planned rather than a surprise!
Did you know you can have your tires regrooved for longer life?? Do you know what that is and if your tires are eligible? We have Goodyear RV tires that are! Do you know how to use a penny to determine your tires tread depth? Did you know your FMCA membership entitles you to great discounts on brand-name tires?
