Join the Department of Environmental Science and Sustainable Agriculture Lecture Series as they present “PFAS and other emerging contaminants: What it means for Kansas”
Tom Stiles, Director of the Bureau of Water with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, will discuss perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS. PFAS are a group of man-made chemicals found in products we use every day. You might know them as “forever chemicals,” named because they do not break down easily in our environment.
Emerging science suggests the buildup of PFAS can cause a variety of health problems. And PFAS are everywhere, including in the water you drink. Should we be worried?
