Depth Psychology Alliance and Assisi Institute teamed up to livestream the opening address for the September 2016 conference, "What Shapes A Life: An Archetypal Developmental Approach" by Jungian analyst, Dr. Michael Conforti, Founder of Assisi Institute.

In this 2-hour talk, Dr. Conforti introduces the work and vision of Erich Neumann, and discusses how an archetypal perspective on developmental issues contributes to our understanding of the various passages occurring throughout life and the particular mandates and challenges associated with each of these. Neumann and Jung both focused on the individual developmental journey and the development of consciousness.

Dr. Michael Conforti is a Jungian analyst and the Founder and Director of The Assisi Institute. A pioneer in the field of matter-psyche studies, Dr. Conforti is actively investigating the workings of archetypal fields and the relationship between Jungian psychology and the New Sciences. He has presented his work to a wide range of national and international audiences.

He is the author of Threshold Experiences: The Archetype of Beginnings (2007) and Field, Form and Fate: Patterns in Mind, Nature and Psyche (2002). Dr. Conforti maintains a private practice in Mystic, CT and consults with individuals and corporations around the world.

NOTE: This video of the live streamed conference address begins with a short introduction by Loralee Scott-Conforti of Assisi Institute and Bonnie Bright of Depth Psychology Alliance as they await the conference stream to go live. Michael's talk begins at 8 minutes in.
The audio in Dr. Conforti's talk has a few challenges, but it does improve considerably just a few minutes after he begins (right around timecode 16 minutes, 8 minutes after he starts), once the microphone was moved closer. It is recommended you listen with earphones, which makes for easier listening and much better clarity of the audio overall.
