Fourteen years ago my Dad passed away. I remember the day so well - seeing his last breath. It was a miserably peaceful moment. My mom's anguish in that moment (it was expected, but no less depressing to see that life gone).
I had been looking through the photos of them when my siblings were young. The youthfulness, the joy on their faces, the love... to see it all wiped away in an instant. The only good news this year is that my mother (who passed away last December) doesn't have to be reminded of his loss.
And it continues - time keeps pressing forward and each year we follow along the same paths, knowing we will be there someday. Hopefully my kids will look back and see all the love we gave them and be happy to see that it was there, even if it's not now (in there time, after we're gone).
And that's that. That's the story, it keeps getting older with each passing day, and eventually it won't be told any more, and there will just be new stories to replace these ones.
About this specific track:
Someone asked if the Mirage had the same steppy envelopes and LFOs as the ESQ-1. My best guess from this soundscape is: no. At least, I didn't hear it. Maybe you can?
