In this video, we take a quick look at the interesting life of one of ancient Mesopotamia's most interesting personalities, the poet and priestess Enheduanna. The daughter of Sargon the Great, the ancient world's most powerful ruler of the time, Enheduanna was made high priestess to the popular Sumerian god Nanna. However, she soon turned her gaze to another, the goddess Ishtar and forever became known as one of the most prolific poets of the deity. In fact, she is the first writer, female or otherwise, to be named or have a literary work attributed to her.
