CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Seven months after Mayor William Cogswell implemented a city-wide safety initiative for King Street, Charleston police say it's made a difference.

"You start looking at the quality of life issues, livability related issues, parking, traffic enforcement, of course, our biggest concern is any type of violent crime, assaults and things that occur on King Street," says Lt. Corey Taylor, the commander for the Central Business District.
