Ben, one of our mechanical engineers, is the lead on the upcoming AltMill 4x8. In a series of episodic videos, he'll share his step by step prototyping processes and technical ingenuity behind the design.

In Episode 2, watch Ben work out the precision needed to make for smooth connections and transitions of the rail, rack and linear rail, and the frame itself.

Throughout the series Ben will explain the engineering methodologies used and insights gathered that will ultimately shape the final design of the AltMill 4x8. You'll get an up close and personal, inside scoop of engineering shop life here at Sienci Labs. The AltMill 4x8 is our most ambitious project yet, and is expected to go on pre-sale fall 2025.
