In this video, I perform an engine out landing with my kitfox aircraft. My cockpit audio was unusable so I did a voiceover and added some clips from the movie Airplane for a little humor. Last fall I wanted to do an experiment with my kitfox to see how much fuel I would lose if I left the gas cap off the wing tank. And to my surprise hardly any actually was sucked out. It seems that only fuel gets sucked out of the tank when flaps are on or the airspeed is above 90mph. If you have a kitfox or similar aircraft, I wouldn't stress about running out of fuel in a short time period. I also show how to demonstrate Bernoulli's Principle with a piece of paper.
