This talk by Dr. Denis Simon, Senior Adviser to the President for China Affairs and Professor of the Practice at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, provides a detailed overview of China's overall higher education system and an analysis of on-going PRC initiatives to enhance the quality and performance of domestic universities, including the role of joint venture universities.
Dr. Simon concluded his presentation with an assessment about what it will take for China to succeed in its efforts to become an education powerhouse in the 21st century.
The discussant, Brad Farnsworth, is vice president of the American Council on Education (ACE). He coordinates ACE's global engagement strategy, which engages associations, governments, and corporations outside the United States to advance the goals of higher education globally.
