The Department of Energy has recently identified energy storage as a grand challenge. Energy storage is a crosscut of Sandia. We leverage lab-wide resources in R&D, and we are outward looking with extensive collaborations with universities and companies. This is an exciting time to be in this technology, as Sandia recognizes energy storage is at a point of major takeoff.
