Wärtsilä has partnered with Pivot Power, an EDF Renewables UK-owned developer, partnered to deliver 100 MW of energy storage capacity across two sites in the UK, enabling the transition towards a 100% renewable energy future.
Pivot Power is developing a world-first national network of grid-scale batteries and high-volume power connections to provide essential capacity for rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging. These are the first projects in a planned 2GW, 40-site programme of energy storage that will be directly connected to the transmission system, and will contribute to the UK's 2050 net-zero emission target.
