I see it has a faithful rep. of these two love and their life together. it was the whole mess with the witches that called laguna away. but, before that, they were married and had a life together. and, after she died, he was left to deal with it. and though he misses her, obvious by the end off ff8, he's truly happy just to have spent any time with her at all. Which is what that ending quote he says means^^
