Atlantic salmon are famous for their incredible migrations, journeying from the ocean to freshwater to spawn. However, wild populations have declined significantly since the 1970s. The most severe declines have occurred in the 32 rivers of the inner Bay of Fundy where Atlantic salmon are now listed as “endangered” under Canada’s Species at Risk Act.
Despite this, hope remains as conservationists and communities work together to restore the salmon’s historic journey. Will we help them find their way back?
