If you've got an issue where your Orbital Exchange Interface isn't working, so when you call in a drop pod in Icarus, no matter what you put it in it comes down empty, then I'm here to show you some fixes.
One suggestion is apparently to get back into your original drop ship and "return to station", then when you leave, load back in by clicking "load" rather than resume. But that didn't work for me, so my solution is instead to make a brand new character and then edit some files to basically copy your talents and tech tree unlocks over to your new character. The drop pod will then work! It's a hassle unfortunately, but it works.
Make sure you back up your files before you do this.
Get to the folder you need to edit by copying and pasting this into your Windows File explorer:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Icarus\Saved\PlayerData\

Other possible solutions (these didn't work for me but I'm sharing them just in case:
Solution 1: Fix Bugged Loadout/Inventory (Recommended)
If the dropship arrives empty, the game has lost track of your items. You need to reset your loadout files to force a refresh.
Navigate to %localappdata%\Icarus\Saved\PlayerData\[YourSteamID]\.
Locate MetaInventory.json and Loadouts.json.
Delete these files (or rename them to MetaInventory.json.bak to keep them as a backup).
Relaunch the game. The game will generate new, empty files.
Note: This will likely cause you to lose any gear currently "in transit" or in your active loadout, but it will fix the broken system and allow new, future purchases to arrive.
Solution 2: Force "Return to Station" via JSON
If you have items stuck in a "ghost" loadout that you cannot access, you can manually force them back to your station.
Open %localappdata%\Icarus\Saved\PlayerData\[YourSteamID]\Loadouts\Loadouts.JSON.
Search for ProspectID to find your current mission.
Change "bInsured": false to true (or, if it is already true, try toggling it).
Change "bSettled": false to true.
Set LoadoutClaimTime to a time in the past if needed.
Save the file and relaunch the game.
Solution 3: The "Un-hide" Files Fix
Sometimes, a Windows update can cause local data files to become hidden, which prevents the game from properly reading or writing to them.
Navigate to C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Icarus\Saved\PlayerData.
Ensure that the folders and files within are not set to "Hidden" in their properties.
