Knoxville News Sentinel | Empty Stocking Fund prepares to distribute 3000 boxes to East Tennessee families this year @knoxnews | Uploaded December 2023 | Updated October 2024, 4 hours ago.
Last year, The Empty Stocking Fund distributed 3,000 boxes to families in need, each filled with a five-pound ham, side dishes, fresh fruit, vegetables and staples like margarine, oatmeal, sugar, coffee, and canned meats and vegetables.
Our goal is to provide the same number of families this year with the ingredients they need for a festive dinner plus enough food to get through the week.
The Empty Stocking Fund truly relies on donations that come in all year.
We're proud to contribute to the holiday spirit in East Tennessee and our volunteer elves work every month of the year to make it happen. Please consider our 100% volunteer-run charity in your giving as we plan now to make the holidays happier for those in need!
