New legislation which stops companies across England, Scotland and Wales from taking employees’ tips has come into force on Tuesday.

The UK Government believes millions of workers will take home an estimated £200m more following the introduction of the Tipping Act on October 1.

Workers now also have the right to request information about an employers tipping record. If a business is found to be breaking the new law, their tipping record can be used as evidence in an employment tribunal.
