An employee with Baltimore County's Department of Permits, Approvals and Inspections is accused of failing to work more than 239 hours while collecting pay, according to a new from the county's Office of the Inspector General.

The Baltimore County Executive's Office said this employee is no longer working for the department.

In a new report released Monday, the investigation found that in a 16-day stretch in June and July 2025, the inspector’s county vehicle sat idle at locations unrelated to work or left for the day early, adding up to 55 hours and 54 minutes of missed work.

Over 49 days from October 2025 to January 2026, the employee was inactive or left work early for another 183 hours and 24 minutes.
