Emmy Rossum joined us in the TIFF Melissa Chung Studio to break down the origins and themes driving her new series, FURIOUS.
Coming off nearly a decade playing a complex character, Rossum explains how she sought out classic films with compelling female leads as creative launching pads, how the series explores the universal experience of women being underestimated and forced to navigate systems that often fail to protect them, and how the eight-hour series format allowed creator Elizabeth Meriwether to delve deep into the psychological backstories of the characters.
